Terms and conditions

To make your stay in bed and breakfast Petra Fig Tree Villa as pleasant as possible we would like to share our terms and conditions with you. We are looking forward to welcome you soon! Jolanda

After you, the lead guest, have made your booking, you and your booking party agree to these terms and conditions. If you have questions about these terms and conditions please ask me before you make your booking.

Arrival and Departure

Your room will be available, on your day of arrival, from 3 pm. You can check in until 6 pm.  We appreciate it if you can share your estimated arrival time in advance.

As we want to have the rooms ready for our new guests we ask you to vacate your room by 11 am on the day of departure.

Early or late check in and a late check out can be arranged at an additional fee. By prior arrangement and subject to availability.

Reservation and payment

You can make your reservation best through the booking page on our website, send a whatsapp message or an email or give us a call.

A 50% deposit is required on booking to secure the room(s). 

The balance is payable on the evening before departure, cash in JOD or by creditcard. A 3% fee will be added to the creditcard payment.

Our direct rates are always cheaper than those on Booking.com (due to their commission costs).

Please note the cancellation policy before committing to a reservation.

We are a small business, so cancellations can have a big impact on us, especially if we have turned away potential guests in favour of someone who has already booked and who then cancels. For this reason we advise that you take out a suitable insurance product to cover against unexpected costs such as cancellation fees.

Cancellation policy

If you cancel before  one month before arrival date, your deposit (in JOD)  is refunded minus an administrative fee of 50 JOD. The amount in JOD will be refunded. If you cancel one month or less before arrival date but more than 15 days, your deposit is with-held. If you cancel less than 15 days before arrival or in case of a no show, full payment will be taken.

Bookings made via third parties such as Booking.com may be subject to differing terms and conditions in force at the time of booking – always read all the info carefully before making the booking.

Should it become necessary for us to cancel a booking we will contact you immediately. Any payments made will be refunded in full. Should you wish to, we will attempt to book you into another local bed and breakfast in a similar standard of room(s). Should this establishment be more expensive than Petra Fig Tree Villa, we will pay the difference for the first night of your stay. Our liability will not extend beyond these conditions.

Please cancel your platter orders at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise full charges will apply.

Cancellations and modifications made by you are not considered confirmed until you receive confirmation by us either via email or text message.

Modification policy

Removing room nights are considered a cancellation for the removed room nights and follows the cancellation policy for the total price of the removed room nights.

Car Parking

At the entrance of the property a small car park is available. Parking is free and on a first come, first served basis. Cars and their contents are left at your own risk.

Change of Room

If a booking is taken out for a specific room and the room reserved is required to meet a specific guest needs or rendered unusable via circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to transfer the booking to an alternative room of similar quality.

Damage and Breakages

The bed and breakfast is our home so please take care of it. You are responsible and liable for any damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. We reserve the right to charge the full replacement cost for any item or piece of furniture removed from the room, and this can be done after departure.


We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury, medical expenses to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees whilst acting in the course of their employment.

We are not liable for failures in and around the accommodation, such as power outages, WiFi disconnections, water supplies and technical installations.

Lost Property

We are happy to return items that have been left following departure, if discovered and found. However, there will be a postage and packing charge plus 30 JOD administration fee.


You can pay cash in JOD. Or by creditcard. A 3% fee will be added to the creditcard payment.

Pets & Service Dogs

We do not accept pets throughout the accommodation. (Ginger and Pumpkin, our cats, don’t like pets). An exception is made for service dogs.


We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. This does not affect bookings already made.

Privacy and peace

All guests agree to respect the privacy and peace of all other staying guests, neighbours and the owners at all times. We reserve the right to cancel a booking with immediate effect if guests are not honouring this agreement or causing a disturbance / nuisance to other guests, neighbours or the owners.


Smoking is NOT permitted within any part of Petra Fig Tree Villa.  You can smoke outside but keep in mind the other guests.

Please note that offending guests will be asked to leave immediately and we will make a charge for deep cleaning, this can be applicable after your departure. This charge will be the cost of the deep cleaning, plus 100 JOD plus the price of the booked stay.

Termination Policy

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to terminate, without notice, an individual’s stay where deemed necessary through unacceptable behaviour or as a result of actions which are likely to endanger or offend others. (Please note that non-compliance of our non-smoking policy may also constitute termination). In such circumstances any outstanding account must be settled, no refunds will be made.

Our main communication goes via email. If we don’t get a reply from you we will try to get in touch via a Whatsapp message or sms.
